Conversations with Past ICA Chairs & ICA Prize Quiz

Young Actuaries World Cup

The IAA and its partner actuview are pleased to announce the 1st Young Actuaries World Cup (YAWC). YAWC welcomes all actuaries under the age of 35 years old to create a short video expressing their views on how the profession can be advanced in the future along the journey on the Bridge to Tomorrow. The four finalists will compete for the championship title at the International Congress of Actuaries in Sydney. To learn more about this exciting initiative, visit the YAWC webpage. Bursary Congress Fund

The IAA Bursary Congress Fund is available to provide some financial support to interested candidates complying with the characteristics of the bursary selection process. Public Submissions

The IAA recently completed two public submissions, which are available on the website under PUBLICATIONS / PUBLIC STATEMENTS. The details of the submissions can be found below:

• The International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) sought feedback, through public consultation, on the draft criteria that will be used to assess whether the Aggregation Method provides comparable outcomes to the Insurance Capital Standard. The relevant documents and consultation questions can be found under this link on the IAIS website.
  
  Many thanks to Nick Dexter and the Insurance Regulation Committee for preparing this response on behalf of the IAA, which was submitted on 15 August 2022.
• The International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), established at COP26 to develop a comprehensive global baseline of sustainability disclosures for the capital markets, launched a consultation on its first two proposed standards. One sets out general sustainability-related disclosure requirements and the other specifies climate-related disclosure requirements. The IAA submitted formal responses to both consultations.
