Audience: All It has already been almost three weeks since our face-to-face meetings in Brussels. We hope that everyone who attended in-person, or by virtual means, had successful meetings and got a chance to network with colleagues. Once again, we’d like to thank our hosts the Institute of Actuaries of Belgium for their gracious hospitality.
The committees and forums which met are working on preparing their meeting notes – you will be notified when these are ready for review. In the meantime, if you wish to listen to any meeting recording, they can be accessed on our YouTube channel playlist.

Upcoming CAS, AFIR-ERM and ASTIN Section Actuarial Colloquia

Member associations are encouraged to share information below with your members.
The ASTIN and AFIR-ERM Sections of the International Actuarial Association and the Casualty Actuarial Society will host the Actuarial Colloquia 2022 in less than one month. With more than 65 presentations from renowned presenters worldwide and 2 keynote speakers, the Actuarial Colloquia will deal with trending topics in the actuarial profession and provide CPD credits to all participants.
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS & EVENT PROGRAM
In addition, this colloquium will showcase 48 non-life presentations and 20 financial risk and ERM presentations covering a variety of topics, such as:
The fourth day, June 24, is set aside for the two sections’ Annual General Membership meetings. This colloquium provides up to 14 actual hours of CE/CPD at a very reasonable registration fee of CAD$60 for CAS, ASTIN and AFIR-ERM Section members; CAD$120 for non-members.
Executive Committee Report to Council
Audience: Council Delegates The minutes from the EC March 31 meeting are available online. The EC met on May 8 and those minutes will be issued at a later date. The EC is scheduled to meet next on June 23. Should you have any questions or comments, please contact the Executive Director.
IAA Public Submissions The IAA submitted comments to the International Financial Reporting Standards Interpretations Committee (IFRIC) on their tentative agenda decision regarding the Transfer of Insurance Coverage under a Group of Annuity Contracts (IFRS 17). The IAA response, prepared by the Insurance Accounting Committee, was submitted on 20 May 2022). The IAA comment letter is available on the IAA website under PUBLICATIONS/ PUBLIC SUBMISSIONS. Many thanks to Derek Wright and the Insurance Accounting Committee for preparing this response on behalf of the IAA. The IAA is also preparing a response to International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) Consultations on Exposure Drafts: General Sustainability-related Disclosure Requirements, and Climate-related Disclosure Requirements.
