Dear AAC Executive Board Members/ representatives,

Greetings from Malaysia – I hope this email finds you in good health.

A quick intro – my name is Kelvin Hii, and I am the newly elected President of the Actuarial Society of Malaysia.  Nice to e-meet all of you.

This year, Malaysia is happy to be hosting the Asian Actuarial Association’s event (i.e. Asian Actuarial Conference) in Kuala Lumpur from 11th to 14th October 2021.

Just to give you an update on the progress of AAC – the organization of this event is going well as planned.  Malaysia has started to roll out our vaccination program – and conferences are now allowed to take place, with the necessary adherence to government SOP’s of course.  We hope things will return to ‘normal’ sooner rather than later.  We are currently planning for a hybrid event (i.e. local participants meet physically, with overseas participants joining virtually) – but we remain optimistic to have a full physical event.

I’m writing to seek your kind help and support to make the Asian Actuarial Association’s event a successful event for all of us – not just the host country.  Your kind help, such as cascading information/ communication to your members, would be most appreciated.

It would also be great for the coming AAC event to feature speakers from all member countries – hence, we would like to seek your help to encourage your members to respond to call for papers so that all countries are represented in the event.

We hope to organize the usual AAC council meeting (most likely virtual) a few months prior to the AAC event.  Will be in touch again.

간단히 소개하자면, 제 이름은 켈빈 히이이고, 새로 선출된 말레이시아 보험협회 회장입니다. 여러분 모두 만나서 반갑습니다.

올해 말레이시아는 2021년 10월 11일부터 10월 14일까지 쿠알라룸푸르에서 아시아 보험 계리 학회를 개최하게 되어 기쁩니다.

AAC의 진행 상황에 대한 최신 정보를 알려드립니다. 이 행사의 구성은 계획대로 잘 진행되고 있습니다. 말레이시아는 우리의 백신 프로그램을 출시하기 시작했으며, 이제 정부 SOP를 준수해야 하는 회의가 열릴 수 있습니다. 우리는 상황이 더 빨리 '정상'으로 돌아오기를 바랍니다. 현재 하이브리드 이벤트(예: 해외 참가자들과 실제로 만나는 등)를 계획하고 있지만, 전체 물리적 이벤트 개최를 낙관하고 있습니다.

아시아 보험 계리 학회의 행사가 개최국뿐만 아니라 우리 모두에게 성공적인 행사가 될 수 있도록 여러분의 많은 도움과 지원을 부탁하고자 이 편지를 보냅니다. 

회원님께 계단식 정보/통신과 같은 친절한 도움을 주시면 감사하겠습니다.

또한 다가오는 AAC 행사에서는 모든 회원국의 연사들이 참석할 수 있으므로, 모든 국가가 행사에 참석할 수 있도록 귀하의 회원들이 서류 요청에 응할 수 있도록 여러분의 도움을 구하고자 합니다.

우리는 AAC 행사 몇 달 전에 통상적인 AAC 협의회 회의(대개 가상 회의)를 조직하기를 희망합니다. 다시 연락드리겠습니다.
