Thank you for visiting
the Institute of Actuaries of Korea.
Actuaries, first introduced in 1963 under the 「Insurance Business Act」, are insurance professionals with public interest and expertise. Actuaries perform tasks such as supervising the soundness of insurance companies and developing insurance products, and have played a key role in helping Korea grow into the 6th largest insurance powerhouse in the world.
IAK, which consists of 2,200 actuaries and 4,000 members, was also established in 1963 and has pursued public interest as its top priority for over 60 years.
As the best insurance expert organization, it has been performing various social roles for the development of the insurance industry, advancement of the actuarial system, and growth of the national economy.
Furthermore, as a self-regulatory and public interest organization, IAK carries out various tasks for the development of the insurance industry and the actuarial system, including member training projects, establishment and revision of actuarial practice standards, and participation in international conferences.
Through our website, we provide a variety of useful information about the insurance industry, including information on actuaries, Korean actuarial practice standards, self-regulation guidelines, and disclosure of information on external verification agencies.
We hope that our members and users will acquire practical information and serve as a venue for active communication and exchange.
Additionally, we ask for your continued support and continued interest in the insurance industry and IAK.
Thank you.
President of the Institute of Actuaries of Korea
